On August 26th, the co-head of animation at Rooster Teeth Joey Clary has stated on Twitter that RWBY Volume 9 will be released in 2022.
The given reason for this is “in order not to rush production, protect [the RoosterTeeth] team and deliver and outstanding volume of RWBY.”
On July 9th during RTX @ Home 2021, a teaser trailer for the Volume’s first episode was shown.
As of March 14th, 2022, no specific date has been given on the Volume 9’s release date.
On May 28th, 2022, the release date for a spin-off show RWBY: Ice Queendom has been unveiled as July 3rd of this year. Given the fact that the main show has never had an ongoing season at the same time as its spin-offs, it is safe to assume that RWBY Volume 9 will be releasing after Ice Queendom, which will be running weekly, likely for a 12 episode season. This could mean we would see RWBY Volume 9 release on September 24th at the earliest.
